Job Description
Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Hand Fabric Cutter to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for precisely cutting fabric materials, including leather and other textiles, to create high-quality garment prototypes and production pieces. Your expertise in fabric cutting techniques, pattern-making, and machine operation will directly contribute to the craftsmanship and efficiency of our apparel and accessory manufacturing process. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse materials and cutting-edge tools in a fast-paced, creative environment. Responsibilities Accurately interpret pattern designs using drafting and flat pattern making techniques to prepare fabric layouts for cutting. Operate fabric cutting machines and manual cutting tools with precision to ensure minimal waste and optimal fabric utilization. Implement pattern-making tools and software to develop accurate templates for various garment components. Cut fabrics such as leather and textiles according to specified measurements, patterns, and quality standards. Assist in the creation of garment samples by fabricating prototypes that meet design specifications. Conduct measurement checks for quality control throughout the cutting process to ensure consistency and accuracy. Maintain a clean, organized workspace and ensure all cutting equipment is properly maintained and calibrated. Requirements Proven experience in fabric cutting, machining, or garment fabrication within a manufacturing or tailoring environment. Strong knowledge of pattern-making software, flat pattern making, and drafting principles. Familiarity with fabric materials such as leather, textiles, and other specialty fabrics used in apparel production. Ability to operate fabric cutting machines, sewing machines, and various cutting tools safely and efficiently. Excellent attention to detail with a keen eye for precision in measurement and pattern alignment. Mechanical knowledge related to sewing machines, fabric fabrication equipment, and maintenance procedures. Basic math skills for measurements, pattern grading, and quality assessments.
