Job Description

1.
SUMMARY:
The Straighten and Cut Technician ensures that customer expectations are met, and quality products are always produced by running multiple machines efficiently and being punctual and productive. 2.
REPORTS TO
Manufacturing Manager. May take direction from the Lead Technician and Supervisor. 3.
HOURS:
B Shift:
Monday- Thursday 4pm-2am 2nd shift : Monday- Friday 3pm-11pm Must be ready at workstation at the start of the shift. 4.
FLSA STATUS
Non-Exempt 5.

QUALIFICATIONS
6.1. High School Diploma required. 6.2. Previous experience in an industrial, team manufacturing environment is desired, but not required. 6.3. Mechanical aptitude is a plus, but not required. 6.4. Ability to eventually run multiple machines. 6.5. Ability to follow proper safety protocols. 6.6. Ability to determine if machinery is working properly based on specifications for expectations. 7.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
8.1. Uses requirements found on job sheet to accurately produce a product that meets specifications and expectations, especially putting importance on meeting due dates. 8.2. Clears the line from previous jobs to ensure that there is no mixing of previous and current products. 8.3. Sets up machines according to information on the job sheet; ensures that machine meets standards. 8.4. Verifies that materials brought from inventory are correct. 8.5. Performs first piece and in-line inspection of material being straightened and cut. 8.6. Correctly uses measuring equipment such as micrometers and calipers. 8.7. Completes all required paperwork and all reports in the system. 8.8. Accurately reports scrap and production efficiency. 8.9. Communicates effectively with management, lead operators, and other personnel regarding problems, due dates, difficulties with machine operation, etc. 8.10. Grinds dies when required. 8.11. Reworks rejected parts as required. 8.12. Understands job requirements and communicates action items for corrective action, as needed. 8.13. Maintains work areas in a neat and organized manner, including tools, materials, and paperwork. 8.14. Able to run multiple machines. 9.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
9.1. Continually required to stand and walk. 9.2. Occasionally required to sit. 9.3. Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity. 9.4. Frequently required to bend and kneel to use machines and get equipment. 9.5. Continually required to utilize visual acuity to operate equipment. 9.6. Continually required to work near moving mechanical parts. 9.7. Continually exposed to loud noise. 9.8. Required to wear safety goggles, a mask, pants that cover down to the ankle, and closed-toe shoes.
