Job Description

Job Title:
Compounder (2nd Shift, Monday-Friday) Job Description This role supports 2nd shift production of vanilla and reaction-based products by accurately measuring, mixing, and processing raw materials into finished compounds. The compounder follows detailed batch instructions, adheres to food safety and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards, and works closely with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent product quality and safe operations. Responsibilities Retrieve raw ingredients and accurately measure them using scales in accordance with standard batch instructions. Mix various ingredients, including liquids and powders, to create compounds using homogenizing and spray dry methods. Identify and melt solid ingredients using hot plates, ensuring correct handling and processing of each material. Determine which ingredients require dilution, dilute them appropriately, and record all raw material usage accurately. Maintain quality standards by verifying the weight and contents of raw materials before and during processing. Conduct in-process batch inspections and document all process events in line with established procedures and policies. Follow standard batch instructions to accurately weigh dyes and other substances into the appropriate equipment. Check consistency across batches and measure the viscosity of mixtures to ensure they meet required specifications. Collect batch samples and submit them to the laboratory for testing and quality verification. Follow all food safety guidelines and maintain accurate documentation of work completed for traceability and compliance. Adhere to GMP, safety, and sanitation protocols at all times while handling raw materials and operating equipment. Wear the required uniform and personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintain a clean, safe work area. Collaborate with team members in a cross-functional environment to support smooth production flow and problem-solving. Essential Skills 6 months to 1 year of compounding experience with powders and raw materials. Experience working in a GMP-regulated environment and consistently following safety and sanitation protocols. Hands-on experience handling raw materials, including measuring, mixing, and processing. Ability to read, understand, and follow detailed standard batch instructions. Capability to operate scales, hot plates, and related processing equipment safely and accurately. Attention to detail in measuring ingredients, verifying weights, and documenting process events. Ability to check batch consistency and measure viscosity using appropriate tools and methods. Strong commitment to food safety practices and accurate documentation. Willingness to wear a uniform and proper PPE throughout the shift. Additional Skills & Qualifications Open-minded approach to learning and adapting to new processes and procedures. Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment. Adaptability and flexibility in a cross-functional setting, supporting different production needs as required. Strong communication skills to coordinate with production, quality, and laboratory teams. Interest in working with food, flavor, and fragrance-related products in a manufacturing setting. Work Environment This position operates in a team-based, cross-functional production environment focused on food, flavor, and fragrance products. The role is scheduled on 2nd shift, Monday through Friday, from approximately 3:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. You will work with powders, liquids, raw materials, and processing equipment such as scales, hot plates, homogenizers, and spray dry systems. The facility follows strict GMP, safety, sanitation, and food safety standards, requiring careful handling of materials and thorough documentation. A uniform and appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) are required and must be worn throughout the shift to maintain safety and product integrity. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Dayton, NJ.
