Work Onsite Full Time Schedule Full Time Job Description Help for Job Description. Opens a new window. The Santa Fe New Mexican is seeking an experienced Press Operator to join our production team. If you know your way around an offset press and take pride in producing quality printed material, we want to hear from you! We offer a competitive compensation and benefits package including a $500 sign-on bonus upon completion of your 90-day probationary period. You'll see your work on doorsteps and newsstands across Santa Fe every day! Here is a basic list of the job duties - You'll be: Operating offset press equipment under the direction of the Press Foreman Achieving and maintaining accurate color registration throughout press runs Monitoring and adjusting ink densities to company specifications Locking printing plates in accurate page imposition Changing out blankets and rollers as needed Assisting with packaging and mailroom tasks during shift You need: High school diploma or equivalent Completed four-year apprenticeship on an offset press Strong understanding of offset press operation and page impositions Experience with press maintenance and densitometer operation General computer skills Bilingual Spanish preferred Ability to lift 75 lbs, stand for prolonged periods, and climb a ladder If you: Take pride in the craft of printing Work well as part of a production team Have a sharp eye for color accuracy and detail Want to be part of Santa Fe's longest-running daily newspaper Thrive in a fast-paced production environment The New Mexican is an equal opportunity employer and a Family Friendly business.
