Production Supervisor Job Summary The Machine Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining production equipment used in the manufacturing of high-quality thermoplastic products. This role ensures efficient production, adherence to quality standards, and compliance with all safety procedures while supporting continuous improvement and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities Set up, operate, and monitor machinery used in manufacturing processes (e.g., extrusion, welding, fabrication). Ensure machines run efficiently and produce products that meet quality specifications. Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on equipment. Troubleshoot minor mechanical issues and escalate as needed. Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and production specifications. Inspect finished products using measuring tools to ensure quality standards are met. Maintain accurate production logs, including output, downtime, and scrap. Follow all safety policies and procedures. Maintain a clean and organized work area (5S standards). Work collaboratively with team members and support departments to meet production targets. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Previous manufacturing or machine operator experience preferred. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Ability to read and understand technical instructions. Basic experience with measuring tools is a plus. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Preferred Qualifications Experience with plastic extrusion or thermoplastic manufacturing. Forklift certification (or ability to obtain). Experience working in a fast-paced production environment. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and work for 12-hour shifts. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to perform repetitive motions and manual tasks. Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with heat, noise, and equipment.
