WHY DO WE NEED YOU?
We are looking for a Mixing Associate to join our mixing department team! The position will be on Shift 1
  • days. We are offering $25.50/hr Rotating 12 hour shift
  • 5am-5pm
IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?
GENERAL
DESCRIPTION/PURPOSE
The primary function of the Mixing Associate is to produce a wide variety of chemical binders per formulaic requirements and ensure mix is fully setup and ready for production. Knowledge of raw materials, production processes and quality control test equipment is required. The incumbent will be responsible for the following:
  • Assuring the accurate measurement of materials, ingredients and products to ensure conformance to formulaic requirements.
  • Test samples of materials or products to ensure compliance with specifications using test equipment and test procedures from Plant Chemist. The ability to operate specialized mixing test equipment such as viscometers, pH meters is required.
  • Observe production and monitor equipment to ensure that specified amounts of materials are distributed and processed per production requirements.
  • Operate required equipment to mix or blend a wide variety of binder formulations.
  • Perform any and all other tasks related to the function of the Mixing Associate position and Mixing Department.
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
  • One (1) year related experience preferred (i.e. ability to operate specialized mixing test equipment such as viscometers, pH meters)
  • Basic computer knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office
  • Basic mathematical skills including: the ability to convert standard measurements to metric; understand and perform dry ingredient to liquid measurement conversions; additional weight measurement conversions
  • Read, understand and execute all customer order specifications, including formula sheets
  • Complete production related paperwork accurately and legibly
  • Analytical, problem solving skills and troubleshooting skills are a necessity
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability
  • Effectively utilize hand tools including, but not limited to: scissors, utility knife, wrenches, screwdrivers, etc.
  • Clear and effective communication ability
  • Ability to effectively interact with all shift personnel
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
  • Satisfactory completion of associated training programs
  • Demonstrated ability of cooperation, leadership and willingness to assist fellow employees in a team-based work environment
  • Willingness to work overtime and at times on short notice
  • Ability to perform the responsibilities of the position including times when there is limited or no supervision
  • Thorough understanding of safety rules and the safe operation of production machinery
  • Previous Manufacturing experience and length of time with Saint-Gobain (for internal candidates) will be considered
  • Physically able to stand, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, lift, push, pull, climb, balance, crouch, handle and move items weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance. Ability to climb ladder/stairs to a height of approximately 8 feet and perform work at that height.
  • Visual acuity corrected to perform job functions. Ability to distinguish color to perform job functions.
  • Ability to move throughout all areas of the plant floor, receiving and outside perimeter of the facility
  • Able to wear all necessary personal protective equipment to perform job functions
  • Stand and/or sit continuously and perform job functions for a full shift with meal break

In addition to the hourly base pay rate, this position is eligible for periodic bonus payments/an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount can be up to 10% of hourly rate based on company and individual performance measures. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.
ADDITIONAL PAY INCENTIVES FOR THIS ROLE INCLUDE
  • Standard Overtime (Hourly Rate

We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer prospective candidates and provide the local pay range for this position, which is $25.50 with progressions to $26.60 per hour, plus $1.20/hr shift differential for Saturdays and Sundays. This hourly pay rate offered can vary depending on location/geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. In addition to the hourly base pay rate, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount can be up to 10% of hourly rate based on company and individual performance measures. The total annual target cash range (Hourly Pay Rate and Bonus, annualized (40 hrs/week
