Monday thru Friday; Saturday as needed -- Day shift
Primary Function:
The Machine Operator is responsible for the set up and operation of the machines within the Packhouse, and to attain goals set forth for the assigned shift. This person is responsible for safely operating the machines at the highest possible efficiency while tracking production and scrap. They are also responsible for keeping the area clean and organized as well as effectively communicating any problems with the machines, product or the department to the shift supervisor.
Primary Responsibilities:
Report to the supervisor about any issues on their machine, product or department.
Monitor how the machine is running and fix any minor problems
Understand and follow all safety precautions as well as start-up/shutdown procedures
Complete start up and shutdown checklist daily
Operate the machine in a way that eliminates down time and boosts efficiency
Achieve daily production goals set by area supervisor
Ensure production quality meets customer spec, focusing on quality of product, case and pallet labels
Ensure correct country of original on all labels (PLU, Clam, box) and pallet tags
Ensure line is running efficiently
Education/Background Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Previous related work experience required Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
Proficiency in use of English language with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally, present information and direction, and field questions from managers, employees and external contacts
Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated problem solving and attention to detail
Willingness to be responsible for company property
Basic mechanical ability
Must be a high-performance team player; be willing to work in a demanding and fast-paced environment
Willingness to maintain confidentiality and protect proprietary information
Willingness to work independently, with minimal supervision and take ownership of job
Visual and audio sensory are needed regularly
Working Conditions:
Environment includes an expansive warehouse that is subject to the outside temperature. The background noise approaches 70 dcbs
Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs.
