Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Cutting Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team at Corry Rubber Corporation. In this role, you will learn to operate, monitor, and maintain our Eastman S135 automated table cutter to precision-cut calendered rubber sheet stock — supplied in roll form — into the parts that feed our bladder building operation. Beyond the cutting table, you will also support the other operations of the business, including building, curing, and air testing and boxing finished bladders. Your mechanical aptitude, ability to interpret part prints, and willingness to work hard on your feet will keep production running smoothly, efficiently, and safely. This is a full-time, hands-on position with training provided, and prior experience operating CNC or other automated, computer-controlled equipment is a strong asset. Your dedication to quality and safety will be essential in delivering top-tier components to our builders. Duties Set up and operate the Eastman S135 automated table cutter, interpreting part prints and tooling/blade specifications to ensure accurate production runs. Load and stage heavy rolls of calendered rubber sheet stock onto the cutting table and vacuum bed, positioning tacky material that takes real effort to handle. Set blade pressures, tool heads, and cut files for each job, adjusting parameters as needed for clean, dimensionally accurate cuts. Operate the machine's Windows-based cutting and nesting software to run and manage jobs efficiently. Keep the bladder building department supplied with clean, correctly cut parts, staying ahead of production needs. Conduct quality inspections of finished cuts, verifying part dimensions against the print and correcting issues before parts move down the line. Support the other operations of the bladder building business as needed, including building, curing, and air testing and boxing finished bladders. Troubleshoot basic machine issues promptly to minimize downtime, using mechanical knowledge and diagnostic skills. Perform routine operator maintenance — blade changes, cleaning the table and vacuum system, lubrication, and general upkeep — to ensure reliable operation. Maintain a safe, organized work area and adhere to all safety protocols during machine operation. Experience Proven experience operating CNC equipment or other automated / computer-controlled machinery — such as a plotter, laser or waterjet cutter, router table, or similar programmable equipment — is strongly preferred. Ability to read and interpret part prints and mechanical drawings accurately is required. Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues effectively. Comfortable working with a Windows PC and learning job-specific cutting and nesting software. Physically able to lift, pull, and maneuver heavy, tacky rolls of rubber sheet stock on a repeated basis, and to stand, bend, and move throughout the shift. Detail-oriented, reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced setting. Willingness to cross-train and help with building, curing, and testing operations as needed. Join the team at Corry Rubber Corporation and become the go-to operator on a key piece of automated equipment that our whole operation depends on. We will train the right person and give you the opportunity to build a real skill set while contributing across our production floor.
