Machine Setup and Operator

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Machine Setup and Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up progressive and compound dies on various 15-60 ton presses, ensuring high-quality production standards, and maintaining a safe working environment. This role requires proficiency in machine set up and operation, basic math skills, and the ability to read blueprints. Responsibilities Perform set-ups and tear-downs, diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test, and make adjustments Perform setup and adjustments on machines according to specifications Use a variety of hand and power tools and material handling equipment in performing duties Operate and monitor machinery, including press brake machines, lathes, and other equipment as required. Perform basic preventive maintenance on machines/equipment Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to ensure accurate production. Utilize hand tools and measuring instruments such as micrometers to ensure precision in work. Conduct routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance. Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean working environment. Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines. Document production processes and report any issues or discrepancies to supervisors. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in machining is a plus. Previous set-up experience with presses is required. Proficiency in basic math skills for measurements and calculations. Experience using hand tools and measuring devices such as micrometers is required. Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles is advantageous. Previous experience operating press brake machines, lathes, or similar equipment is desirable. Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately. Forklift certification is a plus but not mandatory; willingness to obtain certification if necessary. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
