Job Description
Axiom Interactive is looking for a full-time experienced Bindery & Machine Operator to support our print production, finishing, and packaging operations. This is a hands-on position for someone who has experience in printing and bindery operations and can handle high-volume production. They must pay attention to detail and understand that quality, safety, and accuracy matters. The right person should be comfortable working in a fast-paced printing and bindery operation and be able to support general functions to ensure efficient operations. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Set up, operate, and support bindery and finishing equipment.
- Operate or assist with cutters, folding machines, gluing equipment, die-cutting equipment, and packaging equipment.
- Review job tickets, production notes, and specifications before starting work.
- Load, feed, stack, count, and organize printed materials.
- Check measurements, folds, cuts, glue points, quantities, and finished output.
- Monitor machines for jams, misfeeds, crooked folds, incorrect cuts, or quality issues.
- Make machine adjustments as needed or notify management when support is needed.
- Perform basic machine cleaning and routine maintenance.
- Assist with packing, labeling, staging, boxing, and preparing finished goods.
- Keep the production area clean, organized, and safe.
- Follow all safety procedures and company production standards.
- Communicate production issues, machine problems, delays, or quality concerns immediately. Qualifications The ideal candidate should have:
- Experience in bindery, print finishing, packaging, manufacturing, or machine operation.
- Mechanical aptitude and comfort working around machines.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Patience when working through machine setup, adjustments, jams, or troubleshooting.
- Ability to follow instructions, job tickets, and production procedures.
- Ability to lift over 50 lbs. and handle materials safely.
- Ability to stand, bend, reach, lift, and move materials throughout the workday.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Willingness to help the team beyond machine operation when needed. Experience with any of the following is a plus:
- Guillotine cutters both programable, air bed, Polar 42" , Scheider Senator 36"
- Folding machines, continuous feed, Baum 730, 726 and MBO
- Folder/gluer equipment.
- Die-cutting equipment.
- Shrink-wrapping equipment, automatic and semi-automatic
- Digital print production.
- Offset print production.
- Packing, staging, warehouse, or shipping support.
