Description:
JOB SUMMARY
This position supports the fabrication department by performing a variety of general duties, including material handling, assisting machine operators, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and helping ensure efficient production flow. This role is key to keeping fabrication operations running smoothly and safely.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Assist fabrication personnel with setup, operation, and material movement. Load and unload raw materials, finished parts, and components as required. Operate basic shop equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, grinders, and saws (after training). Clean and organize work areas, tools, and equipment to maintain shop safety and efficiency. Support machine operators and welders by supplying materials and removing completed parts. Inspect parts visually for basic quality and conformance to specifications. Dispose of scrap and maintain accurate material counts when required. Perform routine maintenance tasks such as changing cutting fluids, emptying scrap bins, or sweeping floors. Follow all safety procedures and use proper personal protective equipment (PPE). Assist with special projects or other duties as assigned by supervision. Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor or management.
Requirements:
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED preferred. Prior experience in fabrication, manufacturing, or industrial environment preferred but not required.
Qualifications:
Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions. Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand tools and power tools. Strong attention to detail, reliability, and teamwork skills.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up-to 50 lbs. regularly. Standing, bending, and walking for extended periods. Exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures typical of a fabrication shop.
