Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fabrication Worker to join our manufacturing team on 3rd shift. The ideal candidate will have experience working in manufacturing and possess a strong background in welding, metal fabrication, and mechanical assembly. This role involves working with various tools, machinery, and blueprints to produce high-quality fabricated components in accordance with industry standards and project specifications. The position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about manufacturing, fabrication, and metalworking to contribute to complex projects in a dynamic environment. Duties Move stock, fill hopper Start up automatic equipment and ensure proper operation by cleaning and unjamming equipment Monitor and maintain feeding devices to assure stock is moving properly Inspects using micrometers or pressure gauges and charting Operate and maintain fabrication equipment including plasma cutters, press brake machines, and welding tools such as MIG, TIG, FCAW, and welding techniques. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately assemble components. Use hand tools, power tools, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments to ensure precise fabrication according to specifications. Perform welding operations adhering to ASME codes & standards while ensuring safety and quality control. Cut, shape, and assemble sheet metal, ductwork, piping, and other metal components using plasma cutting, pipe threading tools, and machining equipment. Rigging and rigging-related tasks for lifting and positioning heavy materials using cranes or forklifts. Follow safety protocols on construction sites or manufacturing floors to maintain a safe working environment. Assist in the setup and operation of machinery such as press brakes or machining tools for fabrication processes. Maintain accurate documentation of work performed and inspect finished products for quality assurance. Collaborate with team members on complex projects requiring mechanical knowledge and adherence to schematics. Qualifications Proven experience working on construction sites or manufacturing environments involving metal fabrication. Proficiency in MIG welding, TIG welding, FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), plasma cutting, soldering, and other welding techniques. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and ASME codes & standards. Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, calipers, micrometers, press brake machines, pipe threading equipment, and rigging gear. Mechanical knowledge related to assembly processes including ductwork fabrication or pipe installation. Experience operating forklifts or other heavy machinery is preferred but not mandatory. Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations involved in fabrication tasks. Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments.
