Role:
An established industrial manufacturer is seeking an Electropolish Technician to support stainless steel finishing operations in a hands-on production environment. This role is responsible for electropolishing, passivation, pre-cleaning, inspection, and movement of large parts and vessels through the finishing process. It is a physically demanding position in a rugged industrial setting that involves chemical handling and occasional confined-space-type work. Candidates with direct electropolishing experience are preferred, but individuals with related backgrounds in plating, chemical processing, CIP systems, metal finishing, or similar industrial process work will also be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform electropolishing and passivation on stainless steel tanks, vessel components, and smaller parts
Set up and operate electropolishing equipment for assigned jobs
Prepare parts for processing through manual pre-cleaning, racking, unracking, and movement between departments
Handle and work around acids, solvents, alkaline cleaners, and related process chemistry using proper PPE and safe work practices
Assist with setup and breakdown of fixtures, cables, and processing equipment
Follow work instructions and established process protocols for finishing specific parts
Perform in-process visual inspections to verify finish quality and identify non-conforming product
Document processing activity and communicate quality, safety, or production concerns to supervision
Monitor equipment condition and report maintenance or repair needs
Support housekeeping, safety, and workflow needs within the department
Work in and around large vessels and industrial finishing equipment in a physically active production environment
Qualifications:
Qualifications Education:
High school diploma or GED preferred
Experience:
At least 1 year of experience in manufacturing, plating, metal finishing, chemical processing, CIP, industrial cleaning systems, or similar industrial/process work preferred
Previous electropolishing experience preferred
Previous passivation experience preferred
ground in plating, metal finishing, or metal cleaning preferred
Experience in chemical manufacturing or other industrial process environments is a plus
Exposure to pumps, plumbing, process flow systems, or CIP systems is helpful
Experience in heavy industrial or dirty manufacturing environments preferred
Technical Skills:
Ability to read and understand written job instructions in English
Ability to document processing notes accurately
Basic math skills
Experience using hand tools and power tools
Comfort working around chemicals and following chemical safety procedures
Ability to perform visual inspections and identify finish-quality issues
Experience using overhead cranes, pallet jacks, measuring tools, or reading engineering drawings is a plus
