Job Description

Position Title:
Mixing Operator 2nd Shift - Monday through Friday 3pm - 11:30pm
Department:
Production Pay Rate:
$22.55/hr + $0.70/hr
Shift Differential Overview:
Mixing is where production of kibble begins. This is the step where all formula specific raw ingredients (the recipe) are combined for grinding into Mash, which will be further processed at Extrusion. You will be working directly with WAV QC, your Supervisor, the Operations Manager, and your shifts Extruding Operator to work through production schedules. The primary working environment is inside the plant. You will come into contact with raw ingredients. 1. Learn, understand, and properly operate the batching and micro systems and any other related equipment following the prescribed SOPs. This includes the Hammer Mill Operations. 2. Work with Receiving to monitor ingredient bin inventories. 3. Must be able to learn to operate a forklift safely. 4. Ensure proper routing of material flow. This will require you to learn and utilize the WiSys Inventory control systems and follow FIFO principles. 5. Monitor the mixing processes to ensure the recipe is being followed accordingly, including the hand-add station. Following the recipe is vital to ensure the right ingredients are combined in the right quantities so the formula specific nutritional guarantees are achieved. 6. Occasionally you will work with Repete to resolve any equipment control issues. Repete is the vendor that controls the mixing systems. 7. Initiate communication with Supervisors and WAV QC if there are deviations in the mixing process. 8. Must be able to routinely lift 50 lbs. 9. Complete and distribute all reports as required. 10. Keep work area well swept and in a neat and clean manner. 11. Follow established Occupational Safety rules such as
LOTO. 12.
Support and report any concerns related to food safety and product quality to
FSQA. 13.
Work overtime as required. 14. Other duties, as assigned.
