Job Description

Job Title:
Mixer Operator | All Shifts Open $20+ HR Job Description The Mixer Operator plays a key role in the food production process by accurately preparing, mixing, and transferring product according to established formulas and batch sheets. This position operates mixing kettles and related production equipment, follows strict food safety and sanitation standards, and documents all activities to ensure consistent, high-quality products. The role is on 1st shift in a fast-paced, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) environment. Responsibilities Read and interpret product formulas and batch sheets with a high level of accuracy. Follow written procedures precisely and document all work in accordance with production and quality requirements. Operate mixing kettles and multiple pieces of industrial food production equipment safely and efficiently. Use PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) touchscreens to control and monitor kettle operations. Verify and monitor Critical Control Points (CCPs) to maintain strict food safety standards. Perform sanitation duties, including operating Clean-In-Place (CIP) systems for equipment cleaning. Set up product transfer pathways and operate diaphragm pumps to move product through the production process. Weigh ingredients and finished products using production scales to ensure proper batching and yield. Continuously swab and clean cooking equipment as required to maintain cleanliness and prevent contamination. Support general production activities such as mixing, batching, blending, and packaging as needed. Follow all GMP, safety, and quality guidelines while maintaining a clean and organized work area. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding production status, issues, or deviations. Essential Skills Ability to read and follow written instructions, formulas, and batch sheets accurately. Basic math skills for measuring, weighing, and batching ingredients. Strong attention to detail with a focus on food safety and quality standards. Good verbal and written communication skills for documenting work and collaborating with the team. Ability to operate industrial food production equipment, including mixing kettles and related machinery. Experience with mixing, batching, blending, and general production processes. Ability to use PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) touchscreens for equipment operation. Capability to perform sanitation tasks, including using Clean-In-Place (CIP) systems. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, GMP-regulated production environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. Forklift certification or the ability to obtain one, depending on shift requirements. Experience in food production, packaging, or general production environments. in operating diaphragm pumps and setting up product transfer pathways. Familiarity with monitoring Critical Control Points (CCPs) in a food manufacturing setting. Comfort working with wet processes and cleaning procedures in a production facility. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a GMP-regulated food production facility that emphasizes cleanliness, safety, and consistent product quality. The environment requires adherence to strict personal hygiene and dress standards, including no jewelry, fake eyelashes, or piercings while on the production floor. Certain areas of the facility can be cold, and jackets are provided to keep employees comfortable. The production floor can be wet due to processing and cleaning activities, but it is very well lit and designed to be relatively comfortable for extended periods of work. You will work with industrial food production equipment such as mixing kettles, PLC-controlled systems, diaphragm pumps, scales, and CIP systems during a structured 1st shift schedule. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Avon, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.38 - $20.38/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
