Overview Alterative Surface Grinding is seeking a full-time, experienced Surface Grinder to join our team in Brunswick, OH. The desired candidate will have good mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities:

Set-up and operate manual grinding machines. Read blueprints and job orders for product specifications. Skilled in utilizing gauges, micrometers, and calipers. Produce parts in accordance with dimensions, tolerances, number of parts to be ground, material specifications, grinding stock, and due dates. Expertise in selecting grinding wheels, speeds, and feed rates based on requirements, along with knowledge of metal properties and abrasives. Complete setup, tooling and adjustments of machines. Verify conformance of first piece production. Diagnose and resolve tooling problems and machine malfunctions.

Qualifications:

Minimum two years of precision grinding experience. High school diploma or GED minimum. Mechanical and math expertise. Operate effectively with minimal supervision. Commitment to quality, speed and accuracy. Strong communication and time management skills. Attention to detail is a must.

Physical Requirements:

Physical stamina and strength to handle materials and operate machinery effectively.
