Machine Operator 1st, 3rd and weekend shift - $20 to $22 an hour Job Description The Clean Room Assembler works with very small, precise metal components to support laser cutting and welding processes in a clean, organized production environment. In this role, you handle and assemble tiny parts using tweezers and small hand tools, operate computer-controlled laser equipment, and perform detailed quality inspections under microscopes and computer vision systems. You follow written and verbal instructions to learn multiple machines and processes, carefully log quality data in computer systems, and collaborate closely with a passionate, process-oriented team. Responsibilities Handle, manipulate, and assemble very small metal strips and components using tweezers and a variety of small hand tools. Load different raw metal strips into various laser cutting and welding machines with precision and care. Place parts into jigs and accurately align them using computer interfaces to prepare for laser cutting or welding operations. Operate computer systems at each machine to run different cutting and processing programs according to work instructions. Use microscopes and computer vision scopes to perform detailed quality inspections on parts and assemblies. Log and record quality and production data accurately in computer systems and databases. Follow written and verbal instructions to learn and operate a variety of machines, products, and manufacturing processes. Maintain a patient, process-oriented approach to repetitive, detail-focused tasks while meeting quality and productivity expectations. Collaborate with team members to solve problems, share knowledge, and support a smooth production flow. Adapt to day-to-day changes in priorities, products, and processes in a dynamic manufacturing environment. When trained for clean room work, suit up in clean room attire and follow all clean room procedures and protocols. Operate high-powered lasers safely and in accordance with established safety and quality standards. Perform inspection, post-processing, and shipping tasks as needed to support overall production and order fulfillment. Essential Skills At least 1 year of experience in a role requiring strong attention to detail and/or quality control, including the use of microscopes, micrometers, calipers, or detailed visual inspection. At least 1 year of experience in small parts assembly using fine manual dexterity and precise hand-eye coordination. At least 1 year of experience performing data entry and working with computer systems in a production, office, or similar environment. Ability to work comfortably with very small parts using tweezers and other fine hand tools. Ability to learn and operate computer-controlled machines and follow on-screen instructions. Strong focus on quality, accuracy, and thorough documentation. Patience, high attention to detail, and a process-oriented mindset. Collaborative approach with the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Adaptability to frequent changes in tasks, priorities, and processes. Additional Skills & Qualifications 1+ year of experience in a medical-related position is a plus. 1+ year of experience with ERP systems is a plus. 1+ year of experience with Epicor ERP software is a plus. Familiarity with quality assurance and quality control practices in a manufacturing or laboratory environment. Comfort working with documentation, recordkeeping, and basic production paperwork. Interest in learning to operate high-powered lasers, clean room processes, and inspection or post-processing equipment. Why Work Here? Work Environment The work environment combines clean, modern manufacturing areas with specialized clean room spaces. Daily work is primarily performed while sitting, with some standing as needed for machine operation and inspections. Team members typically wear jeans with a polo or neat t-shirt, along with company-provided safety goggles due to the use of lasers; steel-toe boots are not required. When working in the clean room, employees suit up in full clean room attire and follow strict cleanliness and safety protocols. The facility uses a range of laser cutting and welding machines, microscopes, and computer vision scopes, supported by computer systems for machine control and data entry. The atmosphere is highly collaborative, with a team that is passionate about their work and accustomed to day-to-day changes that require flexibility and adaptability. Multiple shifts are available—first shift from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, second shift from 2:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and third shift from 10:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. starting Sunday night—with one week of training provided on first shift. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kettering, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $20.40/hr.
