Job Description

We are currently seeking a press brake/laser operator that will be responsible for fabricating and manufacturing parts for various customers using CNC machinery.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Selects equipment and plans layouts, assembly, and welding, applying knowledge of geometry, physical properties of metal machining, weld shrinkage and welding techniques. Lays out, positions, aligns and fits components together in various body positions. Locates and marks work piece bending and cutting lines, allowing for stock thickness, machine and welding shrinkage, and other component specifications. May cut metal plates or structural shapes. Set stops on machine, change dies, and adjust components, such as rams or power presses, when making multiple or successive passes. Sets up and operates fabricating machines, such as brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, grinders, and drill presses, to bend, cut form, punch, drill, or otherwise form and assemble metal components. Accurately read a metric tape measurer, angle finder, and calipers to ensure precise measurements. Inspects work pieces for conformance to specifications and adjusts machine to correct errors. Studies blueprints, work orders, or machining instructions to determine product specifications, tool requirements, and operational sequences. Observe & follow all safety policies and procedures in compliance with the organizational rules, while seeking continuous improvement. Responsible for his/her safety as well as that of his/her colleagues. Actively supports all Standard Technology activities, i.e. failure analysis etc. Familiarity with ISO standards and requirements. Exercises independent judgment as needed. Lift and position work pieces, manually or with hoists. The above declarations represent a general outline of the duties and responsibilities of this position. Duties may be added or subtracted as business conditions or other circumstances require.
Requirements and Skills:
Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy. Must have experience using a metric tape measurer, angle finder and calipers. A minimum of one year experience operating a forklift is required. Apply basic mathematics to solve problems. Plan work and select proper tools. Visualize objects in three dimensions from plans and drawings. Compare and see differences in the size, shape and form of lines, figures and objects. Able to follow quality standards on a consistent basis. Attentiveness, focus, strength and stamina are key traits needed for this process. A strong work ethic and ability to work independently.
