Responsibilities:
Set up and operate plate saws and other related cutting equipment, adjusting parameters (such as speed and blade tension) based on material type and specifications Pull, inspect, and stage raw stock, checking for imperfections and proper thickness prior to cutting Use measurements devices like calipers and micrometers to ensure finished pieces meet customer order and tolerance specifications Safety operate material handling equipment, such as overhead cranes, vacuum lifters, and forklifts, to move and stage heavy material Label cut pieces and unused remnant materials, accurately record inventory transactions, and maintain traceability Change saw blades, check fluid/lubrication levels, and perform routine preventative maintenance and daily clean up
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education:
High School Diploma or GED Technical:
ability to read a tape measure and interpret cut drawings, work orders, and setup instructions. Basic computer skills and experience with measuring tools
Physical:
must be able to lift up to 70 lbs., ability to stand for long periods of time, good depth perception and hand-eye coordination
