Job Description

Vinyl Extrusion Operator Youngstown, OH 44515 From $17 an hour - Full-time From $17 an hour - Full-time Vinylume Products, Inc. is a locally owned manufacturer of PVC vinyl extrusions, vinyl windows and glass window units. We've proudly produced high quality extrusions and window products in the Youngstown area since 1964. We are located in Austintown near Meridian Road/I-680. Vinylume Products, Inc. is seeking several experienced Extrusion Operators . This position is responsible for operating vinyl profile extrusion lines. Ideal candidates are mechanically inclined and have experience performing routine equipment operations, adjustments, and maintenance.
SHIFT SCHEDULE
We are adding positions to all shifts. First Shift (Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.) Second Shift (Monday through Thursday, 2:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.) Third Shift (Monday through Thursday, 9:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.) Occasional overtime and adjusted shift schedules required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for set-ups and teardowns of extrusion line which includes installation of dies, changing of dies, and operating the lines Responsible for starting up and obtaining quality finished products Troubleshoot and monitor extrusion lines Produce quality product at the lowest cost Responsible for equipment required to package finished product Assist and lead personnel assigned to extrusion line , enforcing safety and quality requirements Continuously observe quality level of products being produced and make necessary adjustments required to maintain this quality level Use company instruments or equipment such as calipers, pliers, screwdrivers, vise grips, "C" clamps, and fixtures Assist extrusion personnel with cleaning of dies and sizers (calibrators) Assist with raw material replenishment and stocking finished products, as needed Perform required general material handling, preparation of packaging, and other duties as may be assigned to maintain production Expected to perform all work in accordance with safety training and standards Maintain good housekeeping practices to ensure the area is clean at all times
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Two or more years of extrusion experience in rigid and/or flexible PVC. Use of CIncinnati Milacron and/or Davis Standard equipment a plus. Prior hands-on extrusion experience Two or more years of Extrusion Machine Operator experience strongly preferred Able to learn and retain product knowledge Ability to read CAD drawings for part specifications Ability to operate electric pallet jack and propane forklift Good communication skills Good math and problem-solving skills
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to constantly stand and walk; frequently bend; use hands to hold, handle, or feel objects, and operate tools or controls; reach, push and pull using hands and arms; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear. The employee must lift, carry and/or move up to 75 lbs. frequently. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position works in a fast-paced manufacturing facility. Noise level is commensurate with large machinery, and will range from moderate levels to occasionally higher levels. Eye protection must be worn at all times, ear protection when needed, and steel toed shoes and long pants are required. Temperatures in the building are affected by outside weather conditions; must be able to withstand a range of warmer and colder building temperatures.
