Machine Operator

SUMMARY OF POSITION AND RESPONSIBILITY

The Omega Machine Operator at Allied Stone is responsible for operating and overseeing Omega stone fabrication machinery to ensure precise cutting, shaping, and finishing of stone products. This role involves interpreting technical drawings, conducting machine setup, maintenance, troubleshooting, and enforcing safety and quality standards throughout production.

Essential Functions:

Operate and oversee Omega stone fabrication machinery for accurate cutting, shaping, and finishing of stone products. Interpret technical drawings and specifications, guiding machine setup for optimal performance. Monitor and adjust machine settings, promptly addressing any issues to maintain optimal performance. Conduct regular maintenance on machines, troubleshoot problems, and ensure all equipment is in working order. Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications. Enforce and maintain rigorous quality control processes throughout the production cycle. Enforce safety protocols and regulations, fostering a culture of safety within the team.

Knowledge:

Proficient in the operation and operator-level maintenance of manufacturing machinery. Knowledge of quality control processes in a manufacturing setting. Technical understanding of Omega stone fabrication machines and related equipment.

Skills:

Attention to detail and precision in work. Troubleshooting skills for identifying and addressing machine issues promptly. Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Abilities:

Ability to lift and move heavy stone materials. Stamina to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks. Dexterity and precision for operating machinery and handling stone products.

Work Environment:

The work environment in the stone manufacturing industry may involve exposure to dust, noise, and various weather conditions. The employee may be required to wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toed boots.

Physical Demands:

Travel Required:

None Required Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent (GED). Technical or vocational training in machine operation or a related field. Proven experience as a machine operator, preferably in stone fabrication or a similar manufacturing environment. Technical understanding of Omega stone fabrication machines and related equipment.

Preferred Education and Experience:

Completion of trade or technical school in machine operation or a related field. Previous experience in stone manufacturing.
