Join the Organic Milk Exchange (OME) team at our Pellet Mill facility in Hines. OME is a privately held, family-owned company that provides personnel and management services to several affiliated entities including BioDynamics, Basics markets, and Silver Sage Farms. The Packaging Operator position regularly runs the packaging lines in the plant and helps to ensure the inventory is kept organized and orderly as directed by the Plant Foreman or other leadership.Essential Responsibilities:
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities per management discretion. Operates the packaging lines in the plant. Troubleshooting packaging equipment. Quality control for the packaging equipment, adjustments of packaging and printing equipment as needed; and ensuring there isn't any contamination of the product. Responsible for following safety programs and reporting deficiencies to management. Attends daily Job Safety Analyses meetings (JSAs) and adheres to safety measures. Safety committee participation. Maintains daily production logs that are legible, neat, and orderly. Operates forklift, aerial lift, scissor lifts, JD 544 loader, JD333 track loader. Helps with maintenance, repairs, and installations of industrial equipment. Demonstrates an understanding of the products manufactured and the processes involved. Helps maintain regulatory compliance as communicated by the Plant Foreman. Contributes to a positive workplace in a mill environment that promotes safety, quality, trust, and teamwork. Able to communicate clearly both in writing and verbally. Demonstrates a willingness to work in all environments as needed. Supports other functions and special projects related to the success of the business. Demonstrates a team player approach and self-motivation. General housekeeping of mill area, breakroom, and restroom areas. Other duties as assigned.Job Qualifications and Experience:
2 years of experience working in a machine or equipment operator role preferred. Mechanical aptitude is required. Experience operating heavy equipment. Understanding of machined fits and ability to use measuring equipment to verify sizes of parts prior to assembly. Understanding of bearing installation and adjustments, along with some hydraulic and electrical experience is a plus. Ability to follow a problem to the source and solve the issue. Professional communications skills for both internal and external customers, co-workers, and team members. Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Ability to adapt effectively within a continually changing and demanding environment. Basic understanding of equipment operations and minor troubleshooting ability. Must be able to demonstrate an ability and willingness to communicate effectively in order to maintain high levels of safety, quality and efficiency. Ability to read and comprehend standard operating procedures and company guidelines. Able to perform at a high level in a fast-paced environment. Valid OR Driver License required.Education Requirement:
