Full Job Description Position Summary:
Provides training to new staff and evaluates the performance and finished work of assigned staff. Assists Assemblers in their daily tasks and responsible for delegating daily assignments. Interfaces regularly with the Engineers, Manufacturing and Project Managers to ensure finished products are in accordance with specifications. Supports operational performance metrics relating to safety, quality, cost, and delivery and helps ensure all targets are met. Additionally, may perform similar work to assigned staff assembling intricate assembly functions on prototype and production type hardware according to company workmanship standards and military or client specifications. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Supervise employees to assure quality of parts and that policies and procedures are followed Understand, train to and enforce applicable Operations and Quality Systems' requirements Help new and existing employees complete all required training Understand workload and delegate work accordingly Evaluate assembly team efficiency and make decisions to increase output Coordinate with internal customers and fellow Supervisors/Managers Monitor and react to department and individual productivity and processes Evaluate employee performance and provide feedback to Manager Promote safety in the assembly area and understand ALIGN's safety requirements Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Experience and Education:
4-5 years of relevant experience High school degree or equivalent
Technical Skills:
Exhibits strong teamwork and communications skills Excellent attention to detail Strong hand-eye coordination Ability to read, understand and interpret engineering drawings and specifications (e.g., blueprint reading, specification, change, design). Working knowledge of aircraft manufacturing, instructions and blueprints Working knowledge of customer specifications and requirements Ability to use calipers, micrometers, etc. Mastery of basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractions) Understand and obey safety requirements Commitment to keep work area clean and free of debris
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50lbs Specific vision abilities include close and distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, as well as reach with hands and arms for extended periods of time Capable of standing for long periods
