The Simplot Company is a diverse, privately held global food and agriculture company headquartered in Boise, Idaho. Summary This position is responsible for the operation, sanitation, troubleshooting and repair of all packaging equipment from the distribution deck to the track. This position will break, cover vacancies, and train employees in all Packaging Operator positions to ensure that all packaging area equipment and people are able to package products in an efficient manner consistent with customer, quality assurance, and packaging goals and expectations.

Key Responsibilities Maintain Company standards for safety, quality, food safety, sanitation and GMPs. Provide troubleshooting, repair and support on the equipment, instrumentation systems and supporting equipment including most mechanical, some electrical and some electronic aspects. Operate and monitor equipment within the assigned area. Observe and listen to operating machines or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions and to determine need for adjustments or repairs. This includes operating equipment to verify operational efficiency. Perform required quality checks and sampling. Perform changeovers on all packaging equipment. Create work orders for equipment needing work during downtime or is not operating correctly. Demonstrate the ability to work with maintenance to perform preventative maintenance. Ensure packaging equipment and immediate area is maintained in a food sanitary manner daily and during major cleanup, which meets company standards. Ensure packaging materials are always readily available. Additional accountabilities as may be required by management be handled in a manner necessary while representing the company. Will assist in training other plant personnel. Other duties may be assigned. Typical Education High school diploma or general education degree (GED) Relevant Experience 3+ years related experience and/or training Qualifications One year certificate from a college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must demonstrate qualification through a job skill evaluation (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, conversion of fractions, decimals, and percentages, and basic mechanical principles). Must be able to read, understand, and communicate in a manner to successfully perform the job duties. Must have basic computer skills. Must be able to work in confined spaces. Must have manual dexterity in both hands. Other Information Overtime requirements in this position are common and may be required to meet operational goals.

Must be able to work around and consume products containing soy, wheat, and dairy. No relocation assistance offered for this role.
