The successful candidate must be able to work safely in a heavy manufacturing environment. The ability to work independently and in a team is a must. Attention to detail, as wells as excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Keep accurate and legible records.
  • Maintain clean, safe work area.
  • Maintain working knowledge of standard practice instructions.
  • Operate mobile equipment: forklift and bobcat to transport slabs.
  • Map all slabs and enter all data into computer.
  • Efficiently process slabs.
  • Operate burning equipment in an efficient manner.
  • Inspect slabs and remove kerf using hand torch.
  • Use the following tools: burning machines, track burners, tape measure, striker, torch wrench, broom, shovel, pry bar, automatic cutting torches, track torches, hand held torches and computer.
  • Communicate (hand/verbal) with crane operator.
  • Perform safety inspections on equipment as required.
  • Assist other crew members in their areas as instructed by supervisor.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • 2 years' experience in an industrial environment, preferred.
  • Ability to learn, retain and apply new knowledge.
  • Ability to become EVRAZ Certified Fork Lift Truck - Bobcat Operator.
  • Ability to use basic hand and power tools.
  • Knowledge of hand communication signals for communication with crane operators.
  • Good math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and accurate number identification.
  • Basic computer skills; data entry.
  • Flexibility and willingness to learn and accept changes in job duties
  • Successful completion of ergonomics evaluation.
