• Job Title: Machine Operator - Stone Fabrication

• We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Machine Operator to support a fast-paced stone fabrication operation.

In this role, you operate polishing, beveling, and CNC-based machinery to accurately cut, shape, and finish granite, quartz, and other countertop materials according to detailed shop diagrams and specifications. You contribute directly to production efficiency, quality, and on-time delivery by following precise measurements, maintaining equipment, and supporting continuous process improvement.

• Responsibilities
• + Accurately measure and cut granite and other stone materials to job specifications using a tape measure and shop diagrams.

+ Operate and feed polishing and beveling machines to achieve high-quality finishes on countertops and parts.

+ Cut granite and other materials to length after processing, ensuring precision and adherence to design requirements.

+ Manage the proper flow of stone tops through the production process to stay on the established production schedule.

+ Select and utilize appropriate tooling for CNC-based machinery to meet specific fabrication needs.

+ Participate in preventative maintenance activities for CNC equipment to support reliability and performance.

+ Maximize production efficiency while minimizing remakes and material waste.

+ Assist in process development and optimization related to CNC routers and associated tooling.

+ Adjust and dress CNC tooling as needed to maintain cutting quality and consistency.

+ Perform general machine operation tasks, including polishing, fabricating, grinding, sanding, deburring, and finishing parts.

+ Use hand tools, power tools, and saws safely and effectively in the fabrication process.

+ Apply mechanical aptitude and basic construction knowledge to troubleshoot minor issues and support smooth machine operation.

+ Follow all safety procedures and use required protective equipment while working in a wet, high-activity production environment.

• Essential Skills
• + Proven experience operating fabrication or production machinery, including polishing and beveling machines.

+ Ability to read and interpret shop diagrams, blueprints, and work instructions with strong attention to detail.

+ Strong tape measure skills and ability to take accurate measurements in standard and metric units.

+ Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with hand tools, power tools, saws, grinders, and other fabrication equipment.

+ Basic math skills for measuring, calculating dimensions, and verifying specifications.

+ Excellent organizational and time management skills to maintain workflow and meet production schedules.

+ Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members and respond to changing priorities.

+ Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.

+ Demonstrated problem-solving skills and openness to process improvement and new methods.

+ Ability to perform general labor tasks associated with stone fabrication, including lifting, positioning, and handling materials safely.

• Additional Skills & Qualifications
• + Experience polishing and fabricating parts for countertops made of granite, quartz, and other stone materials.

+ work history in construction or related trades, providing familiarity with tools and material handling.

+ Experience with CNC routers and CNC-based machinery in a production environment.

+ Knowledge of grinding, sanding, deburring, and finishing techniques for stone and similar materials.

+ Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a production team.

+ Willingness to participate in ongoing training to learn new processes and equipment.

• Work Environment
• This role is based in a busy stone fabrication facility with a wet and dirtier work environment, where water runs with every machine to keep dust and debris down during stone cutting.

Some areas have standing water, and you work in close proximity to active machinery and moving materials. The primary schedule is a swing shift, Monday through Thursday, from 2:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m, with an initial training shift Monday through Thursday from 4:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. You use a range of equipment, including polishing and beveling machines, CNC routers, grinders, sanders, saws, and other power and hand tools. Steel-toed, non-slip boots are required for safety; wet boots can be provided if needed. The environment is fast-paced and production-focused, requiring adherence to safety protocols and comfort working on your feet for extended periods.

• Pay and Benefits
• The pay range for this position is $23.

00 - $24.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
