Job Title:
CNC Lathe Machine Operator Job Description The CNC Lathe Machine Operator sets up and operates CNC and manual lathes, band saws, and related machinery to produce parts according to blueprints and work instructions. This role focuses on safely operating an older Mazak CNC lathe that cuts pipe, editing programs as needed, maintaining tight tolerances, and performing routine maintenance while meeting production, quality, and safety standards. Essential Skills Hands-on experience setting up and operating CNC lathes, including the ability to work with older Mazak CNC machines. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and specifications to determine machining requirements. Demonstrated skill in operating manual lathes and band saws in a production environment. Capability to edit CNC programs on Mazak equipment to achieve required cuts and tolerances. Strong understanding of tooling for CNC lathe operations, including selection, setup, and basic troubleshooting. Proven ability to hold tight tolerances and produce parts that consistently meet specification requirements. Experience performing detailed inspections of machined parts to verify dimensions, quality, and conformance. Ability to safely operate machinery and follow established safety procedures in a heavy industrial environment. Willingness to cross-train in multiple departments and adapt to changing production needs. Flexibility to work and commit to multiple 2nd shift schedules as required. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Camp Hill, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $25.00/hr.
