Job Description

BASIC FUNCTION
Under moderate supervision, operates a variety of machines such as lathes, drill presses, milling machines, grinders, or special purpose equipment to machine metal work pieces to specification on a production basis.
MAJOR DUTIES
Performs a variety of tasks on a variety of machines. Works from engineering drawings or rough sketches. Sets up own machining work. Performs other duties as assigned by leader or supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
A thorough knowledge of machining techniques, materials, tools, equipment, and blueprint reading is required. Ability to read precision measuring tools is also required. Skills may be gained through practical experience and/or specialized training. Prior CNC or Manual Machine experience is preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Frequent bending, twisting and/or lifting approximately 55 pounds (and periodically heavier loads approximately 75 pounds) will be required.

All work will be done in a timely manner within established quality standards and consistent with Company policies, priorities and needs. The individual holding this position has a broad responsibility for carrying out the objectives of the Company including supporting all company policies, meeting goals, and working as a contributing team member. Performance will be measured on the function/duties described in the position description, accomplishments during the review period, and the methods/work skills used to achieve the goals.
