Responsibilities Set up and operate industrial mixing and extrusion machines to produce plastic compounds according to production specifications. Use production travelers and related documentation to follow the product from raw materials through finished goods, ensuring all instructions are followed accurately. Read and interpret production forms that function as recipes, selecting the correct ingredients and measuring the correct quantities for each batch. Adjust machine settings as required to meet specified parameters for size, shape, color, specific gravity, hardness, and other key product characteristics. Perform thorough cleanouts of machines between production runs to prevent cross-contamination and maintain product integrity. Accurately document all tasks performed and the sequence in which they are completed, including production data and quality checks. Monitor the production process from the cooler to packaging and staging of finished materials, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow. Verify conformance of finished products to quality standards, including packaging, labeling, and customer-specific requirements detailed on production documents and system instructions. Perform quality inspection and basic quality control checks during the production process, identifying and reporting any deviations. Use a forklift to move raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods as needed, following all safety and operating procedures. Work Environment The role is based in a plastics processing and extrusion facility that has a noticeable plastic smell and a hands-on, industrial atmosphere. Team members work around production machinery, mixers, and extrusion equipment, handling raw materials and finished plastic pellets. The position requires standing, walking, and lifting up to 55 pounds occasionally. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Denver, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
