Job Description
Overview Star Label Products has been printing custom pressure-sensitive labels in Bucks County for over 50 years. This job is the last set of eyes on the product before it ships. You'll run a slitter/rewind/inspection line — setting up jobs, slitting rolls down to finished size, splicing, and inspecting labels for defects before they go out the door. The work is hands-on and detail-driven. If you can read a ruler, work in fractions and decimals, and catch things other people miss, we can teach you the machine. You'll work on a small finishing team in a fully air-conditioned facility. Restrooms, cafeteria, and locker room are professionally cleaned daily. No night shift. What You'll Do Inspect labels for print defects, color variation, and damage on the 100% visual inspection unit Set up and run the slitter unit, including multiple-knife setups, and slit jobs down to finished width Rewind finished product to customer specifications and internal procedures Splice rolls by hand and at the splicing table, following customer splicing specs Operate and calibrate table-top rewind units as needed Keep up with preventive maintenance on the rewinder per the PM schedule Follow Good Manufacturing Practices, including accurate and complete paperwork Keep jobs and materials properly segregated to prevent cross-contamination What You Need Attention to detail — you're the last check before an order ships, and catching a defect here saves a customer from finding it Solid math — fractions, decimals, reading a ruler, using a calculator Ability to read and follow written instructions — safety rules, job specs, operating and maintenance procedures Ability to identify color variation, registration problems, and small print defects against an approved sample Basic computer skills Ability to work steadily and stay accurate when jobs are stacked up Ability to stay on your feet through an 8-hour shift and handle roll stock Dependable attendance — the team counts on you being here Availability for occasional Saturday overtime during busy periods (paid at time-and-a-half) Ability to pass a pre-employment background check Nice to Have (we'll train the right person) Experience on a slitter, rewinder, or inspection machine Prior print, converting, or label manufacturing experience Experience working to GMP or in a food- or pharma-regulated environment Forklift certification Leaving benefits behind?
