Position Summary The Laser Operator/Press Brake Operator is responsible for operations on CSI's lasers (CO2 & Fiber), plasma table and press brakes. This includes machine setup, production, and quality. You will be responsible for operating and maintaining laser cutting machines and press brakes to fabricate metal parts according to specifications. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in metal fabrication and a strong attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
  • Set up and operate laser cutting machines and press brake machines to cut, shape, and fabricate metal parts
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine job requirements
  • Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers to ensure accuracy of cuts
  • Monitor machine operation and make adjustments as necessary to maintain quality standards
  • Inspect finished products for defects and ensure they meet customer specifications
  • Maintain equipment by performing routine maintenance tasks and troubleshooting issues
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Perform Start Up/ Shut Down of Cutting Machines
  • Follow work instruction WI 08 (Running A Laser Job)
  • Limit and prevent scrap
  • Operate small hand and power tools
  • Perform daily and weekly general maintenance on cutting machines
  • Identify and maintain sheet steel and drops
  • Safely operate forklift and crane to load and unload material and move completed parts
  • Frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, and standing for 8 hours per day.
Experience:
  • Previous experience operating laser cutting machines and/or press brakes is preferred
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints and interpreting technical drawings
  • Strong knowledge of precision measuring instruments and their use in quality control
  • Ability to operate overhead cranes or willingness to learn
Skills:
  • Proficient in plasma and laser cutting techniques
  • Experience with precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers
  • Strong blueprint reading skills
