Job Description

Available Shifts:
Night Shift (6pm-5:30pm) working an alternating 3 day
  • 4 day work week Week 1
  • Sun, Mon, Fri, Sat Week 2
  • Tue•Thurs Our Jonestown Distribution Center, a 218,000 sq.
ft. refrigerated facility operating 24/7, is currently seeking a Box Machine Operator to join our team. The essential function of this role is safely operating the box machines at the highest possible efficiency while tracking production and scrap. They are responsible for keeping the area clean and organized as well as effectively communicating any problems with the machines, product or the department to the shift supervisor. This position may also require crossover training within the department.
Primary Responsibilities :
Operate the box machine which involves feeding the cardboard flats to make boxes. Some hand box assembly required; stacking boxes; operate hand-powered pallet jacks. Monitor how the machine is running and fix minor problems. Understand and follow all safety guidelines and startup and shutdown procedures. Report to the shift supervisor with any issues regarding machine, product or department. Achieve daily production goals and track all pertinent information: initial scrap, blanks used, boxes produced. Understand and follow pertinent SQF (Safe Quality Food) Program guidelines. Maintain a clean workspace.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
Must be 18 years or older to apply. Minimum 1-2 years' general warehouse work experience; basic mechanical ability preferred. Team player attitude, with a willingness to work in a dynamic, growing, demanding and fast-paced environment. Proficient in use of the English language to communicate effectively and professionally, both verbal and written Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Working Conditions:
Must be able to work outside year-round under various weather conditions. Must be able to work in our refrigerated warehouse with 50° F temperature-controlled zones. Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. with or without accommodation. Position requires sitting, standing, walking and bending, squatting, and crawling on a regular basis.
