About the Role As a Converting Machine Assistant, you will play a vital role in our production team by supporting the efficient operation of slitting and rewinding equipment. You will ensure high-quality output by assisting with machine setups, material handling, and precise quality inspections, directly contributing to the delivery of superior flexible material products. Responsibilities Collaborate with operators to execute seamless machine changeovers and maintain consistent production flow. Manage the preparation of master rolls, tooling, and cores to ensure equipment is ready for high-speed converting. Perform critical quality checks using precision measuring tools to verify that finished goods meet exact customer specifications. Execute accurate documentation of production data, material usage, and inventory transactions to maintain operational transparency. Package and stage finished materials for shipment, ensuring all labeling and protective wrapping meet safety and quality standards. Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free workspace by adhering to all industrial safety protocols and equipment maintenance schedules. Qualifications Required Skills Proven ability to read and interpret technical work orders and production instructions. Demonstrated experience using precision measuring instruments such as calipers and tape measures. Strong mechanical aptitude with a commitment to safety and operational excellence. Ability to perform physical tasks including standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 lbs. Preferred Skills Previous experience in a manufacturing, packaging, or material handling environment. Current forklift certification or the ability to obtain one upon hire. Basic computer literacy for logging production data and managing inventory records. Prior experience in a machine-tending or converting role is highly valued.
