Description
Strip cores from #40 treater rolls and utilize Johnstone Slitter when practical. Remove rollsfrom Johnstone Slitterand assist JohnstoneSlitter Operator in removing the mandrel from the rolls and load tools on wrapping and weighing stations. Weigh each roll on weighing stationand wrap and cap with proper protective material. Maintain required records on all weights, roll numbers, lot numbers, or other information. Selectproper pallets from inventory, load roll(s) and transport to shipping area. Position rolls on designated pallet. Band rolls to palletusing the correctbanding materials for the weight requirement of the rolls involved. Attach all labels to rolls and assure markingsare visible. Move all palletized materials to designated area. Transport palletized materials to shipping area with manualor power operatedmaterial handling equipment. Assist treater operator in cleaning, setting up, and threading of horizontal treater. Operate Johnstone Slitteras directed by Supervisor or Slitter Operator. Grind and sharpen knives necessary to operate the Johnstone Slitter, as needed. Operate bailer and removebail, clean and maintain bail room in a neat and orderlymanner. Use the computer systemand label makersto properly mark, move, and process raw, finished, and unused materials to their proper place. PRIMARY FUNCTION
Remove, weigh, wrap, make labels and bar codes, label,palletize, and band all materials that come from the Johnstone Slitter as specified on production order or instruction from Plant Supervisor.TOOLS & EQUIPMENT
Label maker and bar codes, scales, palleting machine, tape machine, manual and powered material handling equipment, banding tools, knife, markers, and other various hand tools as required.MATERIAL
Wrapping paper,banding materials, tapes, and all treated or untreated material,resins, and solvents.WORKING PROCEDURE

Receive oral and/or written instruction from Supervisor. Read production order information or interpret verbal instructions to determine packaging requirements. Select packagingmaterials required for order such as caps, banding paper,or plastic wrappingmaterials.
