Job Description

The Cotterman Company is the largest manufacturer of rolling metal and fixed metal ladders in North America. We are looking for experienced and motivated production workers to perform various manufacturing operations. Candidates must have at least 1 year experience in Machine Operating in a manufacturing setting. Cotterman Company has openings on 1st and 2nd shift as well as a competitive benefits package for full-time hires after a waiting period, weekly pay checks, and overtime pay.
Essential Duties:
Position is responsible for operating machinery and equipment. Operate machines / equipment for the creation of parts. Maintain equipment and tools used. Move materials / ladders from one work area to another as needed. Deliver finished parts to proper stores location. As required, moves ladders in and out of wash rack, powder coating and oven areas. As required, power washes and powder coats ladders and other products. As required, keeps wash rack and powder coating equipment and area clean, replace system parts as necessary to maintain power-wash / powder coating operation. As required, tags, labels and assembles ladders. In preparation for shipping, shrink-wraps, crates, and binds ladders. Quality inspects ladders / parts for missing or faulty welds or other flaws. Reports quality issues to supervisor. Works safely and follows all safety rules and regulations. Report any unsafe working condition immediately to supervisor for correction. Maintain a neat, clean work area. Participate in work team problem solving. Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements/Qualifications:
High School Graduate or equivalent. Good eye-hand and motor coordination. Be familiar with power and manual machines and tools. Ability to measure materials, read blueprints, and understand work instructions. Licensed, or ability to be licensed, forklift operator. Ability to move and safely lift up to 50 pounds. Reliable with excellent attendance record.
NOTE:
Employee must be able to wear a respirator to perform wash rack and or powder coater duties, and must be able to complete required respiratory protection protocols (medical evaluation and fit testing).
