Packaging Machine Operator

Position Summary The Packer is responsible for inspecting, packing, labeling, and preparing plastic packaging products for shipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role supports production operations by ensuring products meet quality standards, customer specifications, and production goals while maintaining a clean and safe work area. Packers work alongside machine operators and production supervisors to keep production lines running efficiently and minimize downtime. Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities Inspect plastic packaging products for defects such as: Cracks Scratches Flashing Discoloration Incorrect labels or print Deformities or contamination Pack finished products into boxes, trays, or pallets according to customer specifications and production requirements Count and verify quantities accurately before sealing and labeling cartons Assemble boxes and packaging materials as needed Apply labels, date codes, stickers, and other packaging identifiers correctly Stack, wrap, and prepare pallets for shipment Maintain production speed and efficiency while ensuring quality standards are met Remove defective or damaged products from the line and notify supervisors or quality personnel when issues arise Keep workstations clean and organized throughout the shift Follow all company safety procedures, GMP guidelines, and PPE requirements Assist with line changeovers, material replenishment, and other production support tasks when needed Accurately complete production paperwork and documentation Work collaboratively with team members, machine operators, quality control, and supervisors Work Environment Manufacturing and warehouse environment Fast-paced production setting with continuous machine operation Exposure to: Noise from machinery Hot or cold temperatures depending on department Moving mechanical equipment Standing for extended periods of time throughout the shift Repetitive hand and arm movements required Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for 8-12 hour shifts Frequent bending, twisting, reaching, and lifting Ability to lift up to 35-50 pounds regularly Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail Ability to perform repetitive tasks consistently throughout the shift Preferred Qualifications Previous manufacturing, warehouse, or packing experience preferred but not always required Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed Basic understanding of production and quality standards Reliable transportation and strong attendance record Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment Common Equipment & Tools Used Conveyor systems Pallet jacks Tape machines Barcode scanners Label printers Shrink wrap equipment Production line machinery PPE including gloves, safety glasses, hair nets, and hearing protection Key Traits for Success Attention to detail Strong work ethic Reliability and punctuality Ability to work in a repetitive production environment Team-oriented mindset Ability to maintain productivity and quality standards under pressure Additional Qualification Requirements Ability to speak, read, and understand English required for safety, training, quality control, and communication purposes Bilingual candidates are preferred, particularly individuals with strong English communication skills Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English within a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Pay:

$17.25 - $18.75 per hour
