General Plant Position Compensation

Starting Rate:

$22.94/hr

Minimum Required Qualifications:

The minimum required qualifications for this position include, but are not limited to, the following: 1+ years of equivalent experience preferred in the food industry and manufacturing facility. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb for extended hours. Must lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, including overhead. Must be able to work in a wet environment. Some exposure to cleaning chemicals. Strong analytical skills. Must have well-developed organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle and follow through on multiple projects. Strong teamwork skills with a willingness to assist others. Ability to meet deadlines and work with limited supervision. Ability to work all assigned work schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and comply with all time and attendance policies. High school graduate or equivalent.

Essential Job Functions:

The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following: Receive and load out bulk products such as sugars, cream, milk, and orange juice. Clean and sanitize equipment, tanks, lines, etc... Set up various filling, bottle handling, case handling, and labeling equipment. Clean, set up, operate, and monitor equipment within a dairy production environment. Complete all required documentation and schedule quality checks. Monitor weights, seals, caps, and general packaging of products. Adjust filler timing as needed. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve basic to moderate operating difficulties. Collect the samples needed for quality assurance testing. Perform filler and filler line changeovers safely and efficiently. Communicate with other departments, management, and employees and notify them of any problems and/or concerns that may alter production efficiency. Ensure all paperwork is filled out in a clean, legible, and accurate format and completed with the required information. Ensure all required information is documented per SOPs. Utilizing a continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes. Follow Good Manufacturing Practices. Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work area. Follow all required work safety practices, including wearing all required PPE in designated areas and handling chemicals safely. Responsible for food safety, pre-requisite programs, and food quality related to designated areas. Report any food safety and food quality-related issues to management immediately. Maintain regular and punctual attendance. Work overtime as assigned. Ability to work cooperatively with others. Comply with all company policies and procedures.
