Job Description Packaging Operator I Palmer International Inc. is a family run, privately held business founded in 1946. We are the oldest cashew derivative manufacturer in the world under original ownership, operating in fully integrated ISO 9001-Certified facilities located in Skippack, PA and New Boston, Tx., in addition to distribution arms in Europe and Asia. Palmer creates chemical fractions and derivatives using Cashew Nutshell Liquid (CNSL) and is the global leader in OEM friction particle development. Palmer also boasts the most recognized global brand by top brake-lining and systems companies. Job Summary Packaging Operator I is an hourly, non-exempt position, requiring minimal chemical plant experience, who can successfully fill, stack and label finished product. This position requires frequent moving, exertion of moderate to heavy physical effort, and standing.
Duties:
(Packaging Operator) Set up, operate, and monitor packaging equipment Safely and properly operate packaging and ancillary equipment Fill, stack and label bags according to Standard Operating Procedures Operate a fork truck to move pallets Meet customer requirements Adhere to all Palmer safety requirements, including safe ergonomics Report quality control issues to the Lead Operator or Manufacturing Manager Perform sampling for in-process and final product acceptance testing
General Requirements:
(Packaging Operator) Must be willing to work overtime Demonstrated safe work practices including the usage of PPE Be able to life 50-55 lbs. frequently, 55-100 lbs. occasionally with necessary assistance Ability to climb ladders and stairs frequently Must be able to wear respiratory protection Ability to work in a wide range of environments (indoors & outdoors) in varying degrees of hot and cold weather conditions Must be able to work in a team environment Must be able to follow both written and oral instructions Preferred knowledge of manufacturing processes and the operation of manufacturing equipment Preferred knowledge of computers/control systems Legible handwriting Basic Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent 1+ years of manufacturing or physical labor task experience
