Job Description
Overview Join our manufacturing team as a Metal Fabrication/Laser Operator/2nd Shift Lead, where your expertise will drive productivity in our sheet metal fabrication company. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead a skilled team, operate advanced fabrication machinery, and uphold the highest safety and quality standards. As a vital part of our production process, you'll be instrumental in transforming raw materials into high-quality metal components, ensuring timely delivery and customer satisfaction. Your professional approach and mechanical aptitude will help us achieve company goals. Responsibilities Lead daily shift operations, overseeing machine setup, operation, and troubleshooting of general light/medium gauge fabrication equipment. Operate CNC laser cutting systems with precision programming to produce complex metal parts according to technical drawings and specifications Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and shop math to ensure accurate fabrication. Conduct quality inspections using precision measurement instruments and measurement techniques to verify dimensions and adherence to quality standards Coordinate with team members for efficient workflow, machine maintenance, tooling changes, and process improvements Support training of team members on machine operation, safety procedures, and measurement techniques to foster a culture of continuous improvement Requirements Proven experience operating metal fabrication machinery including CNC laser cutters, and press brakes. Ability to work independently and stay productive without constant supervision. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately Skilled in setup for laser cutting and other machining processes Familiarity with shop math, basic math skills for measurement and quality control tasks Ability to use precision measuring instruments for quality inspection and measurement verification Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to troubleshooting machine issues and process improvements This is a production focused fabrication role with high standards. This is not a training position-we expect you to know your craft. This is a place where good fabricators can make solid money and grow.
