Education Requirements High school diploma or GED required. Technical school, machining certificate, or CNC programming education preferred. Experience Requirements Experience operating and programming CNC waterjet equipment required CNC laser or plasma cutting experience may be considered Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and manufacturing specifications Experience using precision measuring and inspection tools Strong math, measurement, and problem-solving skills Manufacturing, fabrication, or skilled trades experience preferred Ability to work independently while maintaining quality standards Job Duties Operate and program CNC waterjet cutting equipment to produce metal and plastic components Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate production Set up, load, unload, and move materials using appropriate material-handling equipment Monitor cutting operations and verify quality throughout the production process Conduct inspections using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring tools Complete production and quality documentation accurately Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of waterjet equipment Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area Safely operate shop equipment including waterjets, press brakes, saws, forklifts, and overhead cranes Preferred Qualifications Previous experience with CNC mills, lathes, machining centers, or multi-axis equipment is preferred. Experience editing CNC programs, setting tooling offsets, and performing machine setups is beneficial. Familiarity with G-code, CAD/CAM software, Haas, Mazak, Okuma, Fanuc, or similar CNC controls is considered an asset. Individuals who demonstrate strong troubleshooting abilities, continuous learning, and commitment to precision manufacturing are well positioned for success as a CNC Waterjet Operator. Physical Capabilities Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work around machining equipment throughout the shift. Ability to lift materials, tooling, and components weighing up to 75 pounds. Manual dexterity to safely operate CNC machinery and precision measuring equipment. Ability to work safely around moving machinery while following established safety procedures.
