Full Job Description Position Summary :
The Pack & Tie Operator is responsible for the safe, accurate, and efficient packaging, bundling, tying, labeling, and preparation of precious metal products for internal processing, inventory, or customer shipment. This position ensures all materials are properly identified, protected from damage or contamination, and handled in accordance with company quality standards, security procedures, and precious metal accountability requirements. The ideal candidate demonstrates attention to detail, follows standardized work instructions, maintains accurate documentation, and contributes to a safe and organized manufacturing environment. Essential Job Duties:
Package finished and semi-finished precious metal products according to customer specifications and company procedures. Bundle, tie, wrap, band, or secure material using appropriate packaging materials and equipment. Verify product identification, lot numbers, work orders, and quantities prior to packaging. Apply labels, tags, and traceability documentation accurately. Perform visual inspections to ensure products are free from damage, contamination, or packaging defects. Record production, inventory, and packaging information in company systems or production logs. Weigh products using calibrated scales and verify weights against work orders. Maintain strict accountability for all precious metal materials during handling and packaging. Transport packaged material safely between workstations, inventory locations, or shipping areas using appropriate material handling equipment. Follow all security procedures for handling high-value precious metals. Maintain clean, organized work areas using 5S and housekeeping standards. Assist with inventory counts and reconciliation of precious metal materials when required. Communicate quality concerns, production issues, or equipment problems to supervisors promptly. Support continuous improvement initiatives that improve safety, quality, and productivity. Perform other duties as assigned.
