$18-$22/hour based on experience Job Summary We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Saw Operator to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for operating manual and automatic industrial saws, measuring and inspecting materials, reading blueprints, and ensuring products meet customer specifications in a fast-paced production environment. The ideal candidate will have manufacturing experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work safely and efficiently while supporting production goals and continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities Saw Operation & Production Operate manual and automatic industrial saws safely and efficiently Set up and adjust saws, including feeds, speeds, and coolant levels Calculate material usage to minimize waste and maximize yield Perform first-off inspections to verify parts meet blueprint and print specifications Inspect material during and after cutting to ensure accuracy and quality Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, process sheets, and work instructions Operate metal shaping equipment including brakes, shears, and straightening or bending machines as needed Quality & Measurements Use measuring tools including tape measures, micrometers, and other inspection equipment Ensure all products meet customer and production specifications Maintain accurate paperwork and production documentation Enter inventory and production information into the computer system Safety & Continuous Improvement Follow all plant safety procedures and safe work practices Perform safety inspections on cranes, chains, slings, magnets, and equipment Report safety hazards, equipment issues, or quality concerns immediately Maintain a clean and organized work environment Participate in continuous improvement initiatives including 5S and waste reduction programs Assist in training and mentoring newer employees Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required Additional technical education or manufacturing experience preferred 2+ years of manufacturing experience preferred Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings Ability to accurately read a tape measure Basic understanding of hand tools and manufacturing equipment Strong hand-eye coordination and attention to detail Ability to lift more than 50 lbs.
