• Paid Time Off Job Summary The Laser Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining laser cutting equipment to produce precision metal parts that meet Mancor-SC quality, safety, and production standards. This role requires attention to detail, basic mechanical aptitude, and the ability to read technical drawings. Key Responsibilities
• Set up and operate CNC laser cutting machines (fiber and/or CO₂, if applicable).
• Load and unload raw materials and finished parts safely and efficiently.
• Interpret blueprints, work orders, and CAD drawings to ensure accurate cuts.
• Perform first-article inspections and routine quality checks using measuring tools.
• Adjust machine settings to maintain tolerances and optimize cutting performance.
• Monitor machine operation and troubleshoot minor issues.
• Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and preventive checks on laser equipment.
• Maintain accurate production and material usage records.
• Follow all Mancor-SC safety procedures, housekeeping standards, and PPE requirements.
• Work collaboratively with programmers, supervisors, and other operators to meet production goals. Qualifications & Skills
• High school diploma or GED required; technical training preferred.
• 1+ years of experience operating laser cutting equipment (or related CNC machinery) preferred.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and shop drawings.
• Familiarity with measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, tape measures).
• Basic computer skills for machine interfaces and production tracking.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as required
• Repetitive motion involving hands, arms, and shoulders
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with heat, noise, and machinery Preferred Skills (Not Required)
• Experience with specific laser brands or controls (e.g., Trumpf, Mazak, Bystronic).
• Forklift or overhead crane experience.
