Job Description

Job Title:
Production Mixing Operator Job Description This role focuses on operating and monitoring mixing and related production equipment in a cGMP manufacturing environment to ensure products meet strict quality, safety, and documentation standards. You will handle powders and raw ingredients, follow detailed batch processes, and support multiple production areas through cross-training while maintaining a clean, compliant, and efficient operation. Responsibilities Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs), cGMPs, and production policies, and stay current on updates to ensure safe and compliant operations. Set up, operate, and monitor mixing equipment to maintain efficient production and consistent product quality. Perform weighing, sifting, milling, blending, and related processing steps according to batch instructions. Accurately complete all production documentation and batch records, ensuring clear and thorough traceability. Monitor for cross-contamination risks and maintain a clean, organized work environment in accordance with cGMP standards. Troubleshoot basic equipment issues and promptly report abnormalities or malfunctions to leadership. Perform equipment assembly, disassembly, and cleaning to support changeovers and prevent contamination. Collect product samples and perform or support required quality tests as directed. Operate forklifts safely and maintain current forklift certification as required. Support multiple production areas through cross-training and flexible assignment to different processes. Train and support other operators once you are certified in specific processes, promoting knowledge sharing and consistency. Maintain a steady production pace, meet output goals, and contribute to on-time completion of production schedules. Participate in required training programs, continuous improvement initiatives, and safety meetings. Essential Skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all production and documentation tasks. Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions in English. Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, and unit conversions for accurate weighing and measurement. Mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand and operate production and mixing machinery. Troubleshooting ability to identify and address basic mechanical or process issues. Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with coworkers and leadership. Ability to clearly and accurately document work in production records and logs. Experience or capability in production, general manufacturing, or machine operation. Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks safely. Comfort working with tools such as torque wrenches and other mechanical equipment. Capability to operate forklifts and maintain necessary certifications, or willingness to obtain certification. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in a cGMP, SOP-driven, or regulated manufacturing environment. Experience in mixing, blending, or handling powders and raw ingredients. Familiarity with inspection processes and basic quality checks in a production setting. Ability to read and interpret basic diagrams or blueprints related to equipment or processes. Experience with repetitive, routine production tasks while maintaining focus and quality. Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with overtime and changing production priorities. Work Environment The role is based in a clean but industrial cGMP manufacturing environment that is highly structured and process-driven, with strict SOPs and quality controls. You will work in dusty mixing rooms, handling powders and raw ingredients in enclosed areas, which differs from a typical clean warehouse setting. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required daily and may include a respirator (half-mask or full), hair nets, gloves, gowns or suits, and safety glasses depending on the area. The work is physically demanding, involving lifting, standing, bending, and repetitive motions for 8-12 hour shifts. Daily tasks are repetitive and routine, such as weighing, blending, cleaning equipment, and following detailed batch processes. The pace is fast, and production schedules often include overtime and Saturday work. The team environment on the production floor is generally supportive and collaborative, with strong coworker camaraderie, while experiences with leadership may vary by shift. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Summerville, SC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $43680.00 - $43680.00/yr.
