A unified culture that creates innovative customer solutions. What We're Searching fo r: Hood Container Corporation is looking for a skilled Machine Helper for the Winston-Salem, NC plant. Being focused, driven, ambitious, career-minded, team-oriented, and able to communicate professionally with others will lead you to success in this role. We are seeking an individual that can move to the Assistant Machine operator and eventually become a Machine Operator. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Set up the pre-feeder, mount printing plates and set up delivery sections. Feed blanks into machine. Keep watch on board feeding into machine and make adjustments or corrections as needed. Must meet acceptable quality guidelines. Retrieve dies and inks; return used inks to storage Promptly report problems, concerns or out-of-standard conditions to the Operator. Read Masters/Work Orders. Operate machine in the operator's absence or as needed. Keep work area clean and tools in proper storage place. Must meet acceptable productivity levels. Follow all plant safety rules and safe work practices.
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS
Assist in lifting and carrying materials and tooling needed for machine set up; such as 45-50 lb. ink buckets. Assist the operator in setting up the printer. Other duties as assigned.
III. QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Possess necessary reading and writing skills. Able to read a ruler and can perform simple fractions. Communicate effectively. Work overtime as needed to meet production requirements. Maintain an acceptable level of attendance and punctuality. Work in a hot atmosphere. Climb 2 to 3 stairs to machine platform. Demonstrate initiative and effectiveness in dealing with out-of-the-ordinary situations which may arise in the course of the job. Be a contributing participant in process improvement initiatives. Follow all safety rules and procedures.
