Job Description
The Tuber is responsible for processing colostrum products and packaging the finished gel. This includes guiding gel through the tubing machine, as well as taking samples, weighing, sealing and stacking colostrum tubes. The Tuber must remain vigilant and closely monitors all phases of the tubing/packaging process to ensure the equipment is in proper working order and functioning appropriately. Maintaining a clean, sanitary and safe work environment is a primary responsibility for the Tuber. Disassembling, hand cleaning, and reassembling equipment is a requirement as well. Essential Functions Ensures the tubing and labeling machines are functioning at the highest level of efficiency
Pays special attention to the machine to ensure proper tubing, labeling and boxing is completed based on product specifications
Promotes and complies with all safety standards of Sterling Technology to maintain a safe and healthy work environment
Performs other jobs such as bottling and labeling when needed
Takes steps to ensure product loss/waste is at a minimum
Maintains a clean working environment at all times. Routinely engages in established clean-in-place (CIP) processes that include disassembling, hand cleaning and reassembling equipment used in the packaging process
Promotes and complies with all safety standards of Sterling Technology to maintain a safe and healthy work environment
Performs other duties as assigned and when needed Supervisory Responsibilities None Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Safety and sanitization knowledge will be taught and expectations are to follow the training.
The ability to maintain company confidentiality is required
The ability to monitor, maintain and repair industrial equipment, will be taught.
The ability to remain on task and alert at all times is required Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty. Electronic/Computer Skills Automated controls, touchscreen, and electronic system monitoring is required. Physical Demands and Efforts The physical demands described here are representative of those that could be expected of an employee in the performance of the essential functions of this job. Incumbents will be expected to alternate between standing, sitting and walking throughout the course of a 4-8 hour shift. Incumbent must be able to lift 30-50 pounds intermittingly. Must be capable of communicating with others both verbally and in writing; will be expected to use hands or fingers to manipulate equipment. Vision Requirements Vision requirements include close, distance, and midrange vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus near and far frequently. Work Environment The work environment is moderately noisy and includes running machines, frequent interruptions and moderate traffic.
