Shift Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 4:00 PM-12:00 AM Position Summary The Saw Operator is responsible for selecting, measuring, cutting, and preparing steel materials according to customer specifications. This position requires attention to detail, safe material handling practices, and a commitment to quality and productivity. Essential Responsibilities Select and verify steel materials using tape measures, calipers, heat numbers, and color-coding systems. Safely operate saw equipment to cut material according to customer specifications and work orders. Assist with loading and positioning material using overhead cranes, straps, chains, and other lifting equipment. Operate remote-controlled overhead cranes as needed. Accurately identify, mark, and prepare finished material for shipment. Return excess material to inventory while maintaining proper traceability and organization. Perform routine preventative maintenance on saw equipment, including blade changes. Inspect equipment and promptly report maintenance or repair needs. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Follow all company safety policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned by the Foreman or Supervisor. Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift. Frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling of materials up to 50 pounds. Frequent bending, reaching, and material handling. Ability to climb and work safely around industrial equipment and overhead cranes. Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse and manufacturing environment.
