Job Description

Position Summary The Loader is responsible for operating reloading equipment, preparing components, and assembling ammunition to meet production standards for quality, consistency, and safety. This role supports the manufacturing process by ensuring precise loading, proper documentation, and adherence to all company and regulatory guidelines. Key Duties & Responsibilities Ammunition Loading & Production Operate automated and manual loading machines according to established production procedures. Measure, dispense, and verify powder charges to ensure proper load specifications. Seat bullets and primers with accuracy and inspect each stage of assembly for consistency. Set up, calibrate, and adjust loading equipment to maintain optimal performance. Monitor production output to meet daily and weekly manufacturing targets. Quality Control Inspect components and finished cartridges for defects, dimensional accuracy, and proper assembly. Conduct routine sampling and performance tests to ensure loads meet safety and performance specs. Document all QC findings and report any deviations or equipment issues immediately. Maintain a clean, organized workstation to reduce contamination or defect risk. Safety & Compliance Follow all ammunition handling protocols, OSHA standards, and internal safety procedures. Store powders, primers, and completed rounds in accordance with regulatory requirements. Use required PPE and report unsafe conditions, spills, or incidents promptly. Participate in ongoing safety training and certifications as required. Equipment Maintenance Perform basic preventative maintenance on presses, feeders, powder measures, and related machinery. Identify equipment malfunctions and coordinate with maintenance for repair. Keep detailed maintenance logs and calibration records. Documentation & Reporting Accurately record production numbers, lot information, and component usage. Maintain traceability by labeling and documenting batches. Assist in inventory counts of brass, bullets, primers, and powder. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Prior experience in ammunition loading, manufacturing, or machine operation preferred. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions. Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues. Comfortable working in a safety-critical, high-attention environment. Working Conditions Manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, powders, and repetitive machine operations. Requires standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, and performing manual tasks. PPE (eye/ear protection, gloves, etc.) required at all times.
Pay:
$15.00 - $17.50 per hour
