While maintaining the highest possible level of product quality and integrity, efficiently process client mail by merging and sorting the mail for multiple machines in preparation for mailing or additional handling by other departments.

Responsibilities:

Assist operator in running a high speed inserter machine. Learn machine operating functions Review specifications of each job before doing set-up or production Evaluate materials and requirements for machine set-up. Refer to work order sheet for job specifications. Accurately prepare tray tags and secure them to the appropriately sized trays. Follow Address Visibility standards as set forth by the Post Office. Troubleshoot to resolve problems. Fan through finished product. Follow established procedures to properly dispense of surplus supplies and inserts. Maintain established productivity and output goals. Complete each job as per specifications and prepare for post office delivery. Ensure that mail is properly sorted according to postal requirements. Bundle, sleeve and/or strap mail and place on pallet Maintain postal paperwork. Assist other operators in daily production. Maintain a neat, clean, and properly stocked work environment. Keep area swept and maintained to avoid safety hazards. Breakdown cardboard and properly dispose. Communicate with other departments regarding pertinent information about job specifications and status. Participates in team meetings. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements:

Position requires high school diploma or general education degree (GED) One-year prior job-related experience

Perform Essential Duties:

Climb stairs and/or ladders (minimal) Lift boxes weighing up to approximately 35-50 pounds. Work under pressure to meet strict deadlines or respond to emergencies. Differentiate between colors. Communicate orally and in writing in an excellent manner. Stand for long periods of time. Concentrate for prolonged periods of time.
