Job Description
About the Role As a Polymer Extrusion Technician, you will drive the manufacturing process by managing complex extrusion machinery to produce high-quality plastic components. Your technical expertise in machine setup, process optimization, and troubleshooting will ensure that production lines operate at peak efficiency while meeting strict quality standards. Responsibilities Configure and calibrate extrusion dies, temperatures, and line speeds to achieve precise product specifications. Manage the end-to-end material feeding process, ensuring consistent throughput and minimal waste. Perform proactive mechanical maintenance and component replacement to maximize equipment uptime. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to test new production lines and refine manufacturing workflows. Maintain a high-standard work environment by managing regrind processes and ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols. Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical issues in real-time to maintain product consistency and safety. Qualifications Required Skills High school diploma or equivalent. 5+ years of experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment. Demonstrated proficiency in mechanical troubleshooting and machine operation. Ability to interpret technical drawings and complex manufacturing documentation. Capability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varied industrial temperature conditions. Preferred Skills 2+ years of specialized experience in plastic extrusion. Technical or mechanical certification/training. Prior experience operating a forklift. Strong mathematical aptitude for material ratio calculations and measurements.
